However what you need to do to survive late game is rush islands and not destroy any portals when possible because they ramp up the difficulty with every one destroyed. I'm currently in a game where I've done island five and about to beat 6 then move back to the rest, it's not too difficult for me now. I even tried a new save and get max army upon arrival after winter but I last only 3-4 days until thy are able to breach all walls and start massively killing my town. That being said, when you know the strategy the game isn't too difficult however only being able to play one way isn't too enjoyable. I think some people (including me) like to just sit back and chill, not feel like you're playing against a time limit. The way the game is, you're forced to play one specific way (Rush through) and not deviate from it and I don't think people enjoy that much. I think you guys may have a different philosophy for the game than the player base does. Also with rogue-likes with every lost run you actually grow more powerful by unlocking better items and equipment that make each subsequent run easier and different, that doesn't happen in Kingdom, you just restart albeit with your technologies unlocked but it's essentially just repeating the same grind again. Rogue-likes also let you utilise multiple builds that are different every run depending on what RNG gives you, there is no RNG in Kingdom there's a set path you basically have to stick to if you want to make it far without the difficulty overpowering you which tends to be rushing through islands to get the good abilities/items before the game gets too hard and then working your way back and still the only good build is spamming archers, the rest just aren't viable for late game. It's a base building game mostly and when you lose your entire bases you might have spent days building up it's frustrating losing all that time, it doesn't make you want to continue. Why isn't that seen as okay? I ask out of curiosity, maybe the message is getting lost somewhere and I'd love to improve that in the game if possible.īecause it's not really seen as a rogue-like game where if you lose one run that lasted an hour it's not a big deal.
